Tintsaba - Weaving a Better Life
With a passion for excellence and respect for the earth,
the remarkable women of Tintsaba create beautiful handmade products centred around the use of Sisal, a sustainable natural weed that grows wild in eSwatini.
Master Weavers in Sisal

What is Sisal?
Sisal has the botanic name of Agave sisalana and is a species of Agave native to Mexico that grows wild in Swaziland. It was traditionally used to make rope and twine.

Natural Dyes
Tintsaba are proud to offer a large range of colours from high quality saturation through their kaleidoscope of tones. They take care to only use the lighter sisal fibres so they take to the dyes well.

Weaving
In Swazi culture baskets are traditionally woven by women, the technique being passed down from mother to daughter.
